Make Tacos Dorados at home with this easy recipe! Chicken, potatoes, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce bring the recipe to life.


A Guatemalan inspired favorite, tacos dorados are typically filled with a savory meat and/or veggie filling. This version punches up the umami and sweetness with Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce and Premium Soy Sauce. The filling is incredibly savory as a result and is perfect with a side of fresh limes, salsa, and onions.

How to make it

  1. Peel the potatoes, cook in a pot with the carrot and green beans (potatoes should be cooked until soft) and set aside.
  2. In another pot, cook the chicken breasts with 1 garlic clove, then shred and add the Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, and thyme.
  3. Chop the tomatoes, onion, and 2 garlic cloves into pieces. Sauté with the potatoes and chicken, add the carrot and green beans and stir.
  4. Heat the tortillas on a griddle to make them easier to fold. Fill the tortillas and roll to make a taco. In a pan with plenty of oil, fry them until golden brown.
  5. Serve with tomato sauce, hard cheese, parsley, and onion.
